GLOSSary:
Partial Balayage or Foil- A "partial" is typically lightening what you can see. Hairline, around the face & a few sections on top. Partials maintain dimension. Depending how how much I paint, clients typically come in 1-6x per year. 2-4x is ideal. Partial balayage + haircut is my most commonly booked appointment.
Full Balayage - A "full" is what I recommend booking if the underneath of your hair feels dark or we are doing a "reverse balayage" where we add more dark than light! Typically booked once a year or every 3-4 appointments.
Gloss/Toner - A customized formula that adds desired tone and/or cancels unwanted tones to achieve the intended result! This is the when the magic happens & knowledge about color theory comes into play. Smooths the hair cuticle making hair super shiny, like lip gloss for your hair. Glosses typically last 6-8 weeks depending on wash frequency. If you like the placement of your existing color but it feels brassy or dull, a gloss can be a simple fix!
Root Retouch - Typically booked for grey coverage/blending or to cover regrowth after darkening or shifting natural hair color. Typically booked every 4-9 weeks depending on preference & general grey tolerance.
All Over Color - Root retouch plus full saturation of every hair on the head to darken/shift the existing color to add warmth or cool tones, i.e. copper. Can NOT go lighter with this service!!
Part Update - A partial partial. Quick maintenance of an existing balayage. Face framing touch up + 1-2 sections along the part. Please write in the notes if this is the service you want, I will adjust the timing and price!
Balayage is not a style, it is a technique - An artform. A free-hand blonding technique. "To Sweep" refers to the type of brush stroke I apply to each section I paint.
Your hair is my canvas, this technique is fully customized to your hair and lifestyle - each balayage is like a fingerprint, completely unique to you.
I use a clay lightener which is gentle on the hair, the clay lightener encapsulates each hair strand individually and dries out over time so I have full control of lift with how thick I paint the lightener on.
The grow out is also seamless! No harsh lines because of the softness of the brush stokes.
Hi there! I'm Cierra. I have been behind the chair professionally for almost 8 years! I was very lucky to grow up in Whitefish. I've been living in Bozeman for the past 11 years with my high school sweetheart, now husband (!) and we are so happy to be back in the Valley.
I specialize in Balayage, my favorite service to perform, it's effortless and natural and suits a Montana lifestyle perfectly. I also love blending peoples grey sparkles and creating beautiful & functional haircuts for women and men. I love that hair is my medium, everyone's hair is so unique I really strive to make your hair work for you. I love talking hair, I have lots of tips and tricks and love to engage in discourse that hopefully makes your life easier and your hair better!
I aim to create a welcoming and relaxing space for all of my guests. HER is a cozy salon in the Railway District near Downtown Whitefish - you're going to love it!
I love what I do, it allows me to connect with incredible people at work and gives me the flexibility to play on the weekends. I can't wait to see you in my chair, on Big Mountain, on the river or on the trails. Maybe all of the above?!
